I passed by this new Transit on the way to work this morning. For whatever confusing reason, it has Illinois plates, but the van came from Randall Noe Ford of Texas.

Below the Powerstroke badge is a tiny dealer badge that says “Texas Towing Power”. Wat...it’s just a diesel Transit?!?

If it actually says “Texas Towing Power” it was not put on there by Ford.

Was it a dealer special? I can’t imagine Ford offering that from the factory.

I’m not here to disagree with peoples sexual habits, but do you really need a special edition car if you enjoy analingus? I’m pretty sure any regular car will do.

I know, it’s definitely a dealer sticker (as I tried to note). “Texas Edition” things recently became popular up here in the Midwest. A few weeks ago I even saw a “Texas Edition” Call of Duty Jeep Wrangler. Oh, silly bros will be silly bros.

This is a dealer special. The highest trim on a Transit is the XLT Premium and it would only carry an XLT badge.

Considering the level of amenities that come with the Texas Edition trucks, I would assume they would either chrome, or paint-match the bumpers too.

Given USians’ odd misconceptions about towing, it’s probably a good move by the dealer putting that sticker on there.

Yeah I have a “cousin in law” if that’s a thing lol who put a Texas Edition label off a Silverado (real thing) onto his F150.

He told me when I first saw it “hey check it out, it’s a Texas Edition”

Come on man you know I work with Ford, we didn’t make that badge.

Na they’ll still “need” a dually truck to tow a small trailer.

From what I’ve seen that’d be described as compact over there... Also my grandad used to deliver commercial vehicles for a living and he hated those tippers. Unladen they’re so light at the back they’ll spin the tyres if you so much as look at the throttle. He described the cornering as “alarming.”

Oh yeah, I know it’s a dealer special. It’s a lazy dealer special too. It looks like a standard commercial spec Transit.

I’ve only driven one once, and I thought it was great fun - for much the same reason your grandad hated it :)
